I began karate at Next Generation Martial Arts as a very shy and quiet 6-year-old. My mom wanted to find a place where I could learn both self-defense and gain more confidence. As I started moving through the ranks, I began helping with the little kids’ class. A few years later I began teaching the class, and I quickly learned that my passion is working with and helping children.
While being here, I have been able to meet many families through a community like no other. I love the fact that I can now spend time with children at both MiVillage and NGMA to help instill the important lessons I have learned throughout the years. Not only is this not just another program or workplace but it makes both kids and staff members feel like they are part of the community.
